When in Belgium, Eat as the Belgians Eat

Being good little tourists, Simon and I make a point of trying the local delicacies, no matter how off-putting they are. Aren't we brave?

We sampled the local brews . . .





We exercised great restraint at the chocolate shops . . .




And we had frites only once (unless you count the enormous portion that came with our moules-frites, or steamed mussels and fries -- not pictured because Simon and I both looked dorkier than usual in those pictures) . . .

Why does Simon look unhappy with two pints before him? Or was that the last two pints in a long line of pints that day?

Now, Jim. I think you've known Simon long enough to know that's his cheerful face.
